Huntsville OPP deploy body cameras
Huntsville OPP are advising that officers with the Detachment are now equipped with Body Worn Cameras or BWCs.
The goal of the new initiative is to improve evidence collection, increase transparency and accountability, and enhance safety for both the public and officers.
The cameras, worn on the officers' vests, are clearly visible and feature a flashing green light when in standby mode. Once recording begins, the light turns red.
Training for officers on this new technology is underway, with full implementation expected by early spring.
