Miller Says Thanks To Medical Professionals & Businesses For Their Hard Work During Crisis
Yesterday, Norm Miller, MPP for Parry Sound Muskoka thanked public health units, medical professionals and their support staff for working so hard to help protect the rest of us through the COVID – 19 crisis. He also thanked the staff in grocery stores, pharmacies and other stores that carry essentials, their suppliers, and the truck drivers who collectively are making sure we continue to have access to the things we need.
Miller says this situation is very difficult for many people both personally and financially. On the personal side, he said he knows it is difficult to be told you can’t visit someone in long-term care or hospital or to be told you need to self-isolate but it is necessary at this time, he said.
Miller says on the financial side, the Ontario government is working with the Federal government to find ways to offer support. More information will be coming about support for workers and small business owners who need the help.
Miller says there is a lot of unreliable information about this virus on the internet and asked residents to get their information from reputable sources such as the Ontario Government’s COVID-19 page at ontario.ca or the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at simcoemuskokahealth.org/
Miller said his staff are still available to help you but for everyone’s health and safety he is asking that constituents contact them only by email or phone.
