Muskoka Lakes opens warming centres

Muskoka Lakes remains under a Significant Weather Event as crews work to clear fallen trees and power lines. The municipality says that several roads are still closed, and power outages persist across the region.
Warming centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow in Torrance, Milford Bay, Port Carling, and Raymond. Those needing overnight assistance can contact Muskoka Victim Services or the Canadian Red Cross.
The District of Muskoka has declared a State of Emergency, and Hydro One is working to restore power, though outages may be prolonged. Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors and those in need.
