Northlander Makes Test Run
The province rolled out a test run of “The Northlander” train service yesterday, starting at North Bay and terminating in Toronto’s Union Station.
Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and MP For Nippissing, along with area mayors including Muskoka Mayor Paul Kelly and MPP Norm Miller discussed how this potential service could benefit their communities.
The test run was an opportunity to validate transit times and possible schedules to ensure the success of the venture.
Upon arrival the train and its contingent were met by Caroline Mulroney, Ontario’s Minister of Transportation.
The test results will be used to help build a business case with the goal of service returning in the mid 2020’s.
