Pair charged with trafficking offenses in Almaguin

Police have arrested two North Bay residents following a traffic stop on Highway 124 in the Township of Strong on December 26th.
Officers from the Almaguin Highlands OPP were alerted to a potential wanted individual during their patrol. After searching the vehicle, they discovered drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, and drugs suspected to be cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, valued at over $17,000.
34-year-old Alexis Sawchuk was charged with multiple drug possession and trafficking offenses, while 42-year-old Jason Simpell faces similar charges, along with a probation violation. Both appeared in court on December 27th and were remanded into custody.
