
Police continue search for missing sledder
Two snowmobiles have broken through the ice on Six Mile Lake in Georgian Bay, leaving the operators in the water. Yesterday at 10:45 a.m., a cottager who observed two people in distress contacted Police to report the incident.
The OPP, OPP Aviation Services, Georgian Bay Fire Department, Simcoe County and Muskoka Region Paramedics attended the scene to take over rescue attempts from local residents who were trying to assist the snowmobilers.
One man was removed from the cold water and was transported to a local hospital. The second party has not been located however efforts are rescue efforts are continuing.
