Seven fatalities over long weekend on OPP patrolled roads
The OPP report that it was a tragic Labour Day weekend with seven traffic fatalities reported across OPP jurisdictions, including two pedestrians, a motorcyclist, and an off-road vehicle driver.
The OPP laid over 9,000 charges, with aggressive driving being a major issue. Speeding accounted for 4,841 charges, and 124 drivers were cited for stunt driving. Other violations included 545 seatbelt infractions, 234 cases of impaired driving, and 102 for distracted driving.
