The Ontario government is investing over $50 million to boost housing in Huntsville. This funding comes from the new Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund, part of a $970 million initiative to upgrade water infrastructure.

MPP Graydon Smith highlighted that this investment will help build 3,197 new homes by supporting upgrades to local wastewater treatment and water systems.

District of Muskoka Chair Jeff Lehman praised the move, noting it addresses high service costs and will reduce pressure on water bills. The province is also adding another $250 million to the fund, bringing its total to $1.2 billion, aimed at improving municipal water systems to facilitate more housing development.
