Smith announces funding for firefighter training in Laurier Twp

Graydon Smith, MPP for Parry Sound Muskoka made a funding announcement on Thursday, granting $29,700 to the Laurier Fire Department for their training facility development project's second phase. This investment aims to improve emergency services and community safety in Northeastern Ontario.
Smith praised the initiative, highlighting its benefits for residents along Highway 11. The funding will enable the installation of a waterproofed training facility to provide industry-standard training for local and regional volunteer firefighters.
Fire Chief Tim Hollands emphasized the importance of the funding in creating a hands-on training environment.
