Smith says province's economic statement is good news
Graydon Smith, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka, says the Province's 2023 Fall Economic Statement released last week contains a lot of good news.
With affordability at the forefront of most Ontarians' minds, Smith highlights the extension of the provincial fuel tax cut and the seniors tax credit as measures that will retain more money in people's pockets while also helping to build the economy. "Building a strong economy also helps with affordability." People can put more money in their pockets," Smith says.
Smith believes that decreasing the age for mammograms from 50 to 40 years of age is a significant step forward for women.
Smith also says he believes the government can meet its goal of building 1.5 million houses over the next ten years, and that smaller areas like Parry Sound-Muskoka can "punch above our weight" in terms of housing construction.
