The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is warning that the West Nile Virus season is nearing its peak.

The health unit says the risk of being bitten by a mosquito infected with West Nile virus is increasing. You can continue to enjoy your summer by protecting yourself. Prevent mosquito bites by avoiding going outside when mosquitoes are most active, wearing light-coloured, loose-fitting pants and long-sleeved shirts and using insect repellent according to the manufacturer’s directions.
