Flood watch in effect for Muskoka
The MNR is advising that a flood watch has been issued for Southern and Northeastern Ontario as a series of low-pressure systems moves in this week. Starting today, rain and snow are expected, with temperatures above freezing. Areas from Muskoka to North Bay could see 10-15 mm of rain.
Warm temperatures will cause snow to melt quickly, leading to increased runoff and elevated water levels. This could cause flooding, especially in low-lying areas.
Residents should monitor local forecasts and be aware of potential ice break-ups and flooding risks over the next few days.
