MPP Smith introduces new bill to reduce wildfires
MPP Graydon Smith introduced the Resource Management and Safety Act, yesterday, in the Legislature. The new bill aimed at reducing risks from wildland fires and hazardous oil wells while supporting infrastructure development.
The bill includes stronger fire prevention laws, measures to address unsafe oil wells, and initiatives to attract more land surveyors to help build homes and schools. It also proposes the Geologic Carbon Storage Act, which would regulate carbon storage technology to cut greenhouse gas emissions and create thousands of jobs.
Smith says the legislation will protect resources, support infrastructure, and manage CO2 emissions responsibly.
