Smith announces 109 new EV charging stations in Parry Sound Muskoka
MPP Graydon Smith announced on Tuesday, that the province is set to build 109 new electric vehicle charging stations across Parry Sound and Muskoka.
Smith says these new stations will provide critical support for EV drivers in rural communities. "For EV drivers, having a nearby charging station can make all the difference," he says, adding that these stations will make life more convenient for families and workers.
This initiative is part of the province’s $63 million EV ChargeON Program, which aims to expand EV infrastructure and create jobs in Ontario’s growing electric vehicle sector.
The new charging stations will feature both Level 2 and Level 3 chargers and come alongside the province’s new Ultra-Low Overnight Electricity Price Plan, which will help drivers save on charging costs.
