Bear causes school to go into hold and secure - two days in a row!

Spruce Glen Public School was under a hold and secure yesterday due to a bear in the schoolyard. The event was repeated this morning when a bear returned to the school yard.
In a hold and secure, exterior doors are locked and classroom routines and lessons continue. Students were not permitted outside.
Yesterday, the school conducted an indoor dismissal process at the end of the day. With students remaining indoors and escorted by teachers directly onto a bus, or picked up directly by their parents/guardians.
Today’s hold and secure was lifted this earlier this afternoon.
OPP are monitoring the situation.
