Bracebridge approves application for Grant.
During its meeting last week, the Bracebridge General Committee approved an application for the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant. This grant, introduced by the province last year, aims to equip communities with essential supplies and services for managing emergencies, particularly natural disasters.
Funding ranges from $5,000 to $50,000 and is targeted at small and medium-sized communities. Bracebridge is applying for $37,900 to purchase two satellite phones, an internet hub, and a drone, with ongoing costs planned for the town's operating budget.
The application must be submitted by October 31, and municipalities will find out about their funding status in February.
