Bracebridge begins urban tree survey on Monday
The Town of Bracebridge says that starting Monday, representatives from Davey Tree Service will begin a tree survey as part of the Urban Tree Management Plan. Over the next six weeks, surveyors will be using laser rangefinders to assess tree height, growth, and health.
The plan aims to effectively manage the town’s urban forest and ensure public safety in greenspaces. This survey occurs every five years to update the tree inventory and address any potential health issues.
The Town also emphasizes environmental stewardship, planting about 30 trees annually on public property to replace fallen or hazardous ones, primarily in the fall.
