Bracebridge closes part of the Trans Canada Trail

The Town of Bracebridge has closed a section of the Trans Canada Trail from Ecclestone Drive to the Liza Crescent residential area due to safety concerns related to a section of boardwalk. Fencing has been installed to restrict access, and residents and visitors are urged to follow the posted signage and trail detour.
The town says the decision to close the trail followed an inspection that identified potential safety issues with the boardwalk and staircase.
Staff will propose repairs and rehabilitation of the boardwalk to Council for consideration as part of the 2025 Municipal Budget and Business Plan.
