Fednor supports economic development in Almaguin Highlands
Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister responsible for FedNor, announced on Friday, a $400,000 FedNor investment in the Township of Armour to support the Almaguin Community Economic Development Department's work in creating sustainable economic growth across the region. The Dept. now has nine members from East Parry Sound Townships, including Perry, Armour, Ryerson, Strong, and Joly; the communities of Burk's Falls, Sundridge, and Strong; and the Almaguin Highlands Chamber of Commerce.
Hadju says the initiative will help the organization and its members maintain their operations while also strengthening existing partnerships.
The project will result in the retention of two employees, the creation of one additional industrial park in the region, and the completion of an internal study on housing in the region.
