Firefighters preparing for lithium battery facility

A lithium battery storage system planned for Armour Twp. is still months away, but fire safety preparations are already underway.
Local firefighters will complete specialized training before the system is installed and continue annual drills once it's operational.
The company behind the project says the site will include advanced fire prevention measures, continuous monitoring, and a buffer zone to reduce risk.
A public meeting will be held later this year for residents to learn more.
