Gravenhurst Council hears pitch for affordable housing
Daniel Segal of Segal Construction presented a proposal to Gravenhurst council for developing attainable housing in the town. He suggested funding the project through a combination of municipal bonds and provincial and federal support.
Segal emphasized the importance of assessing specific housing needs and planning exit strategies as the project evolves. He mentioned that once completed, the council could sell the units, manage them, or transfer them to affordable housing providers.
Mayor Lorenz thanked Segal for his insights and noted that the District of Muskoka offers various housing assistance programs. She encouraged him to connect with district staff to explore his proposal further.
