Gravenhurst names 2024 Senior of the Year
Barb McCabe has been named the Town of Gravenhurst’s Ontario Senior of the Year.
Mayor Heidi Lorenz praised her extensive community involvement during the announcement at the 40th annual Mayor’s Tea. McCabe's dedication, work ethic, and positive impact on Gravenhurst were highlighted by Mayor Lorenz and fellow citizens.
Nominated for her enriching contributions to social, cultural, and civic life, McCabe's volunteer work, particularly with the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst, stood out. She's been a member since 2000, holding various leadership roles and actively supporting community projects like Rotary Rocks the Barge.
Additionally, McCabe played a pivotal role in establishing the Probus Club of Gravenhurst in 2002. Mayor Lorenz says her humility and commitment to service make her a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
