Hope arises holding 'Moc Mile' march to raise awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls
The non profit group Hope Arises will be holding a "Moc Mile" march in Huntsville this weekend to honor missing and murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Starting at 8:45am at the Huntsville Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, the event includes a ceremony reading the names of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman and Girls.
The walk, named after traditional Indigenous Moccasins and participants are encouraged to wear red or carry a red dress in solidarity with the cause, which coincides with Red Dress Day.
Additionally, Hope Arises will hold a "Circle of Strength" ribbon skirt workshop at the Huntsville Public Library on Tuesday, May 7th, starting at 9 a.m.
