Huntsville council to offer up to $80K signing bonus for new doctors

Huntsville Council will review a proposed Physician Recruitment Incentive Package at today’s meeting, aiming to attract family physicians with incentives including a signing bonus of $60,000 per physician for taking over an existing practice, and up to $80,000 per physician for establishing a new family practice, with a maximum of ten physicians in total.
In addition the town will provide fees for ten Muskoka Heritage Place and Pioneer Village one-year family memberships, as well as Family Skate and Swim one-year memberships.
Funding for the physician recruitment program will be sourced from the Municipal Accommodation Tax reserve, and the specifics of the signing incentive will be detailed in an agreement approved by the CAO.
