Huntsville donates land to District for affordable housing
Huntsville Council has approved the transfer of 24 Chaffey Township Road to the District of Muskoka for an affordable housing project.
The District has 12 months to begin development or must seek an extension—or return the property to the Town at no cost. The site is intended for six transitional housing units for those experiencing homelessness, pending a grant application.
Even if the grant falls through, the District plans to explore other affordable housing options. The 0.3-acre property is serviced and could merge with existing District-owned land nearby.
