Huntsville to get 4 new doctors.
Councilor Scott Morrison in an interview with Hunters Bay Radio, declined to deny reports that agreements are imminent with 4 doctors to relocate to the Huntsville area.
Morrison, who was joined by Councilor Helena Renwick at the studio, is heading up the charge, along with Council Bob Stone to try and attract up to 10 new doctors in Huntsville to reduce the amount of un-attached patients in the area.
As well, 3 local doctors are about to retire, putting additional strain on the local healthcare system.
The town earlier launched a recruitment campaign to help attract new physicians with incentives including $60,000 - $80,000 signing bonuses financed through the town’s Municipal Accommodation Tax fund.
Morrison said the announcements were “very imminent.”
