LOB Fire receives $50,000 from Firehouse Subs for new equipment

The Lake of Bays Fire Department is getting a major boost in lifesaving equipment thanks to a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.
The department has been awarded nearly $50,000 to purchase 20 sets of water and ice rescue gear for firefighters in Baysville, Dorset, Dwight, and Hillside.
Fire Chief Gary Monahan says the new gear will enhance emergency response and help first responders perform safer rescues in challenging conditions.
