MiND-AID's new mental health RV gets funding for a nurse practitioner
The Muskoka Community Foundation is funding the part-time hiring of a nurse practitioner for MiND-AID's new mobile youth mental health RV.
The Foundations’s Executive Director Lynn DeCaro announced a $40,000 grant from the Dr. William S. Monk Community Healthcare Development Fund, which will help outfit the mobile hub to provide essential healthcare to youth in Muskoka.
MiND-AID’s Executive Director, Jody North, highlighted that this initiative will remove barriers to healthcare access for young people, welcoming nurse practitioner Suzanne Corby to the team.
Kathryn Monk, who created the fund in honor of her father, praised the collaboration among community organizations as crucial for improving primary healthcare in the region.
