Ontario Health Coalition holds public hearing in Bracebridge
The Ontario Health Coalition (OHC) is holding public hearings across Ontario in response to over 1,200 closures of emergency departments and other hospital services in the past year, including a stop in Bracebridge.
Brenda Scott, chair of OHC’s Small, Rural, and Local Hospitals Committee, will lead a discussion alongside six other notable figures, including Mike Schreiner, leader of the Green Party of Ontario, France Gélinas, Ontario New Democratic Party Health Critic, and Adil Shamji, Ontario Liberal Party Health Critic.
Participants, including residents, service agencies, advocacy groups, and professionals, can provide their input through online or in-person options.
The results will inform a report with recommendations to protect and improve local hospitals, with a focus on rural areas.
The Bracebridge event takes place on Tuesday, June 11th at the Royal Canadian Legion on 168 Muskoka Rd. at 9am.
