Overserving leads to fatal crash and loss of liquor license

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) has proposed a 60-day liquor sales license suspension for Kelsey's Restaurant in Huntsville. The AGCO suspects multiple violations of the Liquor Licence and Control Act, and its Regulations at the establishment.

On November 4, 2022, it is alleged that a patron at Kelsey's Huntsville was served and consumed 18 shots of liquor over approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. Despite displaying increasing signs of intoxication during this time, the staff continued to serve alcohol until closing.

The patron left the premises after last call and subsequently got involved in a severe single-vehicle accident, resulting in their death due to sustained injuries.
