The Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee critical of MAHC's new working groups
The Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee is criticizing Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s new community working groups as a misleading attempt at collaboration. The committee argues that MAHC's actions do not align with its rhetoric, pointing to a lack of transparency and substance in the redevelopment project.
Chief among their concerns is that MAHC's proposed November deadline for submissions is arbitrary and undermines genuine stakeholder input.
The committee, which says they represent over 14,000 residents, emphasizes that MAHC has failed to repair public trust or meet past commitments for two equitable hospitals.
The committee is urging the public to support their "Care Closer to Home – Version Two" model and to advocate for transparency and proper collaboration in the healthcare redevelopment.
Meanwhile, the MAHC says the new working groups continue to gather feedback on crucial issues and plan to submit its proposals to the Ministry in November.
