Time's almost up for black garbage bags

Black garbage bags will become a thing of the past, starting the week of March 3rd. Muskoka residents will be required to use clear garbage bags in the hope of improvining waste diversion.
For the first four weeks, there will be a grace period where residents using non-compliant bags will receive reminder notices.
After that, bags that don't meet the requirements will not be collected. Small opaque bags can still be used for privacy.
The transition will also extend to waste drop-off facilities by January 2026.
