TLSDB students have improved in the last 3 years.
The Education Quality and Assessment Office has released results for Ontario school boards from the 2023-2024 year, including results for Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB). Chair Colleen Wilcox praised students for exceeding the provincial average in Grade 3, 6, 9, and 10 assessments.
Grade 3 reading, writing, and math scores, as well as those for Grade 6 students with Individual Education Plans, are notably high. Math scores have improved over three years, with TLDSB achieving an overall score eight percent above the provincial average.
In secondary education, students scored eight percent above average on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. Superintendent Kim Williams highlighted the focus on problem-solving and direct instruction to support student success.
