Council remuneration and expenses come in slightly under budget in 2023

The Huntsville General Committee heard a staff report on 2023 Council Remuneration and Expenses. Amounts paid to Councillors or Board members were included in the Town Final 2023 Consolidated Budget, with a total of $299,000 paid to Council and Committee members, slightly under budget for 2023. Councilors were paid a total of $24,514 plus $1,615 in benefits and a further $200 to $1400 in per diem expenses last year. Mayor Nancy Alcock received $55,744, while Deputy Mayor Dan Armour received $27,058.
The Total budget for Councillor discretionary spending in 2023 was $21,000 and total spending amounted to $19,634.
