District approves a 4.52% budget increase for 2025
The District of Muskoka Council approved its first multi-year budget last week with a 4.52% increase in 2025.
The 2025 budget includes $101 million in operating costs and $109 million for capital investment, with a projected tax increase of 4.52%.
Key points include $53 million for expanding Fairvern Long-Term Care Home, $20 million for affordable housing, and $81 million for road and bridge improvements.
The budget also includes a 0.34% increase for hospital redevelopment. Residents can expect a tax increase of about $15.69 per $100,000 in 2025 and $13.34 in 2026.
