District starts construction on new affordable housing complex

The District of Muskoka says that construction is set to begin on a new building at 100 Pine Street, bringing 44 affordable housing units for low-income individuals.
Featuring 11 studios and 33 one-bedroom apartments, rents will range from $550 to $950 per month. Fourteen units will be fully accessible, with amenities like an elevator and accessible parking.
The initiative is part of the District's "Big Move On Housing" under its 2024-2029 investment framework, addressing Muskoka's urgent need for affordable housing.
Funding from the Federal Government’s National Housing Strategy and provincial initiatives supports the project, aimed at enhancing residents' quality of life.
