Fire Danger Rating set to MODERATE

The Muskoka Fire Chiefs have set the Fire Danger Rating to MODERATE and remind residents that there is "No Daytime Burning" from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Fire Chiefs say that forest fuels are drying and there is an increased risk of surface fires starting and advise residents to carry out any forest activities with caution
With the spring weather approaching, Fire Chiefs says it is time to think about the significant impact warmer temps has on wildfires – in how they start, how aggressively they spread, and how long they burn.
Under a moderate fire rating:
Fire must be under constant supervision and control from time of lighting until it is totally extinguished
