Global March to end fossil fuels takes place in Huntsville on Sunday
Climate Action Muskoka, along with Climate Action Parry Sound, and Almaguin Climate Action are inviting the public to participate in the Global March to End Fossil Fuels taking place in Huntsville on Sunday, September 17th at 1:30 p.m.
Participants will gather at Flag Park and march down to River Mill Park as a group.
The groups say the march is part of a global call to action by thousands of climate action groups throughout the world to stop our reliance on fossil fuels. The groups say that in September, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will hold a global Climate Ambition Summit in New York City, with the "ticket to entry" being demonstrable action to keep fossil fuels in the ground. Thousands of climate groups around the world are preparing climate strikes on September 15 and marches to end fossil fuels on September 17, including a large event in New York called the March to End Fossil Fuels.
