Huntsville man unable to work after contracting West Nile Virus
A Huntsville area man is the first confirmed human case of West Nile virus in Muskoka this year.
Chris Bennett, a Huntsville self-employed carpenter, was recently hospitalized with symptoms later determined to be caused by the disease. Bennett is currently recuperating at home and unable to work. His family and friends are raising funds to help him cover expenses until he is able to resume working.
The health unit says that while many infected individuals don’t show symptoms, West Nile virus can cause serious illness, including fever and neurological issues.
