LOB eases road allowance closure policy

The Township of Lake of Bays has updated its Road Allowance Closure policy, making it easier and more affordable for property owners to purchase road allowances containing private roads or driveways.
Council approved the changes on March 11, removing outdated references, reducing the land acquisition fee from $1.00 to 28 cents per square foot, and lifting a recent moratorium on applications.
Property owners can now apply to purchase Township-owned road allowances, starting with a pre-consultation.
