Local musician nominated for Canadian Folk Music Award
Hannah Shira Naiman, a Huntsville resident and singer/songwriter, has been nominated for "Traditional Singer of the Year" at the upcoming Canadian Folk Music Awards.
The 2024 CFMA Awards Weekend will be held in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador next April .
Hannah received the nomination for her album, "The Wheels Won't Go". The album's release was postponed several times owing to pandemic limitations, and it came together gradually over the course of various lockdowns and unusual hurdles. The first track "Vinegar Pie" was recorded in Huntsville, during a lockdown.
Naiman has received four previous CFMA award nominations and was named Traditional Singer of the Year in 2017 for her sophomore album Know the Mountain.
