Man arrested on multiple B&E's
Bracebridge OPP, with the assistance of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit, has been investigating several break and enters into business locations that occurred in Gravenhurst in April and May.
As a result of the investigation, police identified a suspect and on May 6, 2024, attempted to execute an arrest, however the suspect fled on a bicycle and a search was conducted, however it was unsuccessful.
Police were dispatched at 8:00 a.m. on Friday to a break and enter that occurred at the Cultural Healing Centre on the Wahta Mohawk First Nation. The investigation revealed that the suspect was the same person related to the ongoing investigation in Gravenhurst.
Officers attended an address nearby and located the suspect, who surrendered to police.
30-year-old Travis Shelton of Gravenhurst, has been charged with:
- 3 counts of Break and Enter,
- Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
- Mischief Under $5000,
- Resist Peace Officer, and
- 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
He is being held in custody and will appear in Bail Court today.
