The Township of Muskoka Lakes announced the completion of the first two Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Private Sector projects.

The Township launched the private sector incentive programs at the end of 2022. Field of Greens and Muskoka Insurance of Port Carling were the first two properties to benefit from these new programs.  The Township contributed just over $30,000 to both projects, leveraging almost $80,000 in private sector investment to improve each of the respective buildings.

Mayor Kelley says “The Township is committed to encouraging long-term economic development.”

David Kitchen,  Owner of Field of Greens says “There are an incredible number of issues facing local business owners and the support of The Township of the Muskoka Lakes, through the CIP Program, is a perfect example of how our local government is focused on creating targeted, timely and direct support to help position local small businesses for future success.”

The CIP program streams include: Attainable/Employee Housing, Shoreline Structures, Building and Mechanical Upgrades, Accessibility and Façade Upgrades; and Ecological Space Improvements.

Applications are open year round on a first come first serve basis until funding is exhausted. To learn more visit the Township website.
