Police nab three stealing hanging baskets and soil
Bracebridge OPP is investigating a string of thefts that occurred on Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Police responded to the initial complaint where it was reported that suspects had stolen hanging baskets and soil and were in the process of collecting evidence when the victim called back to report that the suspects had returned. Officers were quick to arrest three suspects and identified a fourth person. The investigation revealed that four commercial business were victimized.
Police have charged 48-year-old Salem Berday of Bracebridge, with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
He will appear in Court on July 4th, 2023 to answer to his charges.
Police have also charged 31-year-old Julia Dann of Gravenhurst with Theft Under $5000. She will appear in Court on June 27th, 2023.
And 42-year-old Aurel Wink of Gravenhurst stands charged with 2 counts of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Schedule I Substance. He was held for a bail hearing yesterday.
