Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee Chair resigns
The Chair of the Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee has resigned, citing disappointment over the committee's failure to secure more hospital beds for Bracebridge. Despite the MAHC increasing the allocation to forty-six beds, the Chair criticized Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s lack of transparency and flawed processes.
Bruce Kruger acknowledged the committee's shift in direction and plans to continue advocating for healthcare improvements in South Muskoka and opposes the proposed site for a new facility at 300 Pine Street, calling it harmful to the community's future.
Earlier this month, the MAHC reported that they were going ahead with its submission to the Ministry of Health with the support of 45 local physicians, who had earlier opposed the plan.
