Trout Creek man guilty of hunting moose without a license

Recently, Steve Ouellet from Trout Creek pleaded guilty to hunting moose without a license and was fined $10,000, with a one-year ban on hunting big game. His Air Saber used in the illegal hunt was forfeited. Patrick Ouellet from Cache Bay received a $730 fine for possessing unlawfully killed wildlife, while a North Bay man was fined $1,500 for the same offense.
The investigation began after tips about Ouellet's illegal hunt in November 2023, leading to the discovery of the kill site and related evidence. The case was heard by Justice of the Peace Madeleine Paul in North Bay on June 27, 2024.
