Amendments to LOB's Road Licence Agreement removes requirement for existing roads/driveways

Lake Of Bays Township released the agenda for next Tuesday’s Council meeting featuring a draft report on the Roads License Agreement (RLA) program.
This report, open for public review, will be presented and discussed at the meeting, with public comments accepted until the February 11th meeting. The recent expansion of the RLA program, affecting private roads and driveways on municipal road allowances, has sparked concern among residents of Lake of Bays.
Proposed amendments to the program includes:
- Removal of Roads, Streets and Lanes on Plans of Subdivision
- The terms of the agreement will be rewritten to address new access only during construction and remove the requirement for renewal and annual fees.
- The agreement will remove the requirement for previously existing roads/driveways.
- The agreement will be rewritten to be succinct and concise, and easy to understand.
- The Road Purchasing policy will be rewritten based on the amendments to the Road License Agreement Program.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and view the presentation before submitting written comments or delegation requests for future meetings.
