Silver Bridge closed out of an abundance of caution

The District of Muskoka closed the Silver Bridge on Ecclestone Drive in Bracebridge for an emergency structural assessment yesterday.
The Town of Bracebridge says there will be no access for vehicles or pedestrians.
Mark Misko, director of engineering and transportation for Muskoka, says the closure is out of caution after an operations crew noticed issues requiring further evaluation.
The temporary closure will also affect Bus Stop 120 at Bird Mill Mews. Alternative bus stops include Stop 110 at Ecclestone Drive and Young Street, and Stop 260 at Taylor Road and Hiram Street.
The closure will remain in place until further notice.
