Man charged after hitting rock cut and destroying vehicle
Bracebridge OPP is investigating a vehicle fire in Muskoka Lakes Township early today.
At 2:30 a.m., emergency responders found a vehicle that had crashed into a rock cut and was fully engulfed in flames on Muskoka Road 118, just east of Scarcliffe Road.
Police say the driver had fled the scene, and further investigation revealed the vehicle was taken without the owner's permission.
Police have charged 21-year-old Gurmehakpreet Singh of Port Carling with several offenses, including taking a motor vehicle without consent and failing to remain at the scene. Singh is set to appear in court in Bracebridge on October 22nd.
