Mountview water treatment plant to wind down operations by Fall 2026

The District of Muskoka announced that work is underway to phase out the aging Mountview Wastewater Treatment Plant in Huntsville. This initiative involves constructing a new Sewage Pumping Station near the existing plant and redirecting wastewater to the Golden Pheasant waste water treatment plant on Hwy. 60.

The District says the project reflects municpality’s commitment to preserving its natural beauty while accommodating future growth.

Construction is expected to conclude by Fall 2026.
